Not home yet...

American Airlines really overbooked the flight we were supposed to take yesterday. We had seats, but decided to give them up because they were offering a good deal.

Our lunch and dinner yesterday and our breakfast this morning was paid for, as well as the hotel last night. We also received $800 each to use toward American Airline flights within one year.

Since we were planning to go to California around Christmas to visit hubby's family, we figured this was a good deal. He still has about a week of vacation time left, so it didn't hurt to take an extra day.

The best part is that we were able to get upgraded to Business Class again today. It was full yesterday, but not today. Woohoo! I'm hoping there won't be too many people so that I can take pictures. I feel kind of silly taking pictures of the plane, though. We'll see...

Delayed honeymoon

Yes, I realize I haven't posted in a LONG time. There were some interesting things going on at school that took up a lot of my time after cycle break, and then it was the end of the school year. That means report cards. Not a ton of fun.

I am typing this on a computer at the Admirals Club at Lambert. My dad was very nice and used some of his miles he gets from business to upgrade us. We are flying 1st class to Chicago and business class to Paris. I'm looking forward to the yummy drinks and food and the larger seats! Our flight to Paris is overnight, so it will be helpful to have the extra room to try to sleep.

From Paris, we will catch a plane to Venice, where we will be staying for a couple days. Our cruise (which goes around the Greek Isles and to Croatia) leaves from Venice. After the cruise, we are renting a car and driving to France. Along the way, we are going to stop at Mont St. Michel and St. Malo. [Side note - When I was 16, I studied in France, and we stayed at a youth hostel outside of St. Malo for a couple weeks. I enjoyed it there and thought it would be fun to go back and visit the "walled city."] After the stops, we are heading to Paris, where we will be staying for 5 days. For one of those days, though, we are going to take a day trip to London.

I plan to take a lot of pictures and will try to post some when I return. Unfortunately, school seems to start early this year, so I won't have much time when I get back. The first day of school is July 16th, and Meet the Teacher Night is July 13th. Since my room is being used for summer school, I have a fair amount of work to do the week before school starts - unpacking, organizing, etc. Oh, fun!

Au revoir!

(I was going to try to include some pictures of places in Europe, but apparently the Admirals has disabled the right button on the mouse.)
